Sarah Brenneman paints abstract works that come from her personal experience. Using humor and drawing from modernist paintings, she is writing a cast of characters that long to interact with the viewer as well as each other. Brenneman has had three solo shows with Jeff Bailey Gallery in New York and has work included in the collections of The Progressive Corporation, The Aspen Contemporary Art Collection amongst others as well as private collections. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Columbus College of Art in 1998 and her Master of Fine Arts degree in 2000 from Virginia Commonwealth University. She recently had work included in Common Ground a group exhibition that began at Triumph Gallery in Moscow, Russia and traveled to Anna Nova Gallery in St. Petersburg, Russia. Born in 1975 and raised in southern Ohio, after college she moved to Brooklyn where she lived for over a decade before moving with her husband and two young sons to nearby West Orange, New Jersey.
